I am Vanessa Sanchez, MPA, Adjunct Professor for Â鶹¾«Æ·. I received my master’s in public administration for Health Services Management from Mercy in May of 2020 during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. My experience in the workforce is mostly in management and operations.
Over the last 12 years, I have worked as an Operations Manager for Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSA) across New York City and now Upstate Hudson Valley NY. Alongside my full-time career, I have been adjunct professor for Â鶹¾«Æ· since September of 2020 and for St. Joseph’s University since March of 2022. At Mercy, I have taught Human Resource Management for the Health Care Manager HSMG-631 and currently still teach Legal Environment for the Health Care Manager HSMG-711. Most recently, I have started teaching Management Information Systems MPAT-531. What makes me stand out for students is my ability to relate to them on many levels; professionally, academically, and personally. I have been in their seats as a student who held a full-time job while having to balance a graduate program, a household, parenthood, and marriage. Additionally, on a professional level, I have real-time, real-life experiences in the areas of the courses I teach. This gives me an opportunity to offer a realistic perspective of what students can expect to encounter in some of the careers they may pursue after graduation.
