What do we mean by Smoke-Free?

Smoking means inhaling, exhaling, burning, or carrying any lighted or heated cigar, cigarette, cigarillo, pipe, hookah, or any other lighted or heated tobacco, plant or chemical product intended for inhalation, whether natural or synthetic, in any manner or in any form. 鈥淪moke鈥 or 鈥淪moking鈥 also includes the use of an electronic smoking device that creates an aerosol or vapor, in any manner or in any form, or the use of any oral smoking device for the purpose of circumventing the prohibition of smoking.

Electronic Smoking Device

Electronic Smoking Device means any product containing or delivering nicotine or any other substance intended for human consumption that can be used by a person in any manner for the purpose of inhaling vapor or aerosol from the product. The term includes any such device, whether manufactured, distributed, marketed, or sold as an e-cigarette, e-cigar, e-pipe, e-hookah, dab rig or vape pen, or under any other product name or descriptor.

Tobacco Product means a product containing, made or derived from tobacco or nicotine that is intended for human consumption, whether smoked, heated, chewed, absorbed, dissolved, inhaled, snorted, sniffed, or ingested by any other means, including, but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, little cigars, chewing tobacco, pipe tobacco, and snuff.

Cannabis/marijuana (and hashish, hash oil, honey oil, wax...) is an illegal substance per the federal Controlled Substances Act. Based on federal laws, Mercy prohibits the unlawful possession, manufacture, cultivation, distribution, use, and sale of cannabis/marijuana and other illegal substances on campus or on property owned and controlled by the University. New York State law legalizing marijuana, including medicinal marijuana, does not override federal laws nor 麻豆精品 policies.
